To date, this wedding is sitting in my top five favorite weddings of my career. Cass + Will poured an insane amount of love into their wedding day and surrounded themselves with all of their closest friends and family. During their ceremony, I remember taking a minute to look around and simply pay attention to the looks on everyone’s face. People were crying, smiling uncontrollably, holding back tears, and happier than I’ve ever seen a group of people. Everyone in attendance was enormously happy to be seeing these two marry one another. And in that moment, I remember thinking, “This is what this is about. This is what matters.”
The truth is, these weddings aren’t about the cake, the details, the photographer, or how much you spent. What matters is the people. This wedding would happen whether I, or any other vendor, was there or not. And knowing that gave me so much energy to capture every moment as authentically as possible. Not that it matters, but I’m incredibly proud of these images. I’m proud because I felt like my focus was on what was important, and I feel like each image tells that story authentically. These are images that tell the truth.
